What's going on with the campaign and in Douglas County.
Spring 2026
Members of the Castle Rock Youth Commission participated in a student Day at the Capitol event — engaging with legislators, touring the historic Colorado State Capitol, and watching democracy in action.
The Youth Commission is made up of nine high school students who share an interest in civic engagement and community leadership. They gain hands-on experience with local government, articulate the needs of youth in the community, and help address real issues affecting their peers.
"The Castle Rock Youth Commission is something I strongly advocated for, dedicated time to build and helped structure to last. I didn't have opportunities like this growing up, so I'm grateful Town Council unanimously supported bringing it to life."
— Tim Dietz, Youth Commission Council liaison and District 6 Councilmember
2025 – 2026 Session
One of the first actions of the new Youth Commission was to learn about each Town department from the inside out. Here, members dig into the services provided by Castle Rock Water — one of many sessions designed to give students a real, hands-on understanding of how their town runs.
The commission meets monthly from September through May. Members represent youth across the community, build leadership skills, and connect directly with Town Councilmembers.
"It's important our teens know their voices are heard — they bring a valuable, fresh perspective." — Tim Dietz
Tim championed this commission because he believes tomorrow's leaders deserve a seat at the table today. Applications for grades 10–12 open each spring at CRgov.com/YouthCommission.
April 2026
Tim Dietz on-site at the construction of Douglas County's new recreation center. This is exactly the kind of family amenity our community needs — a place where our kids can play, our families can gather, and our quality of life goes up.
Tim has been a vocal advocate for investing in facilities like this. While others talk, Tim shows up. This recreation center represents the future of Douglas County — and the kind of leadership Tim will bring to the Treasurer's office.
March 31, 2026 — Tuesday
The Zebulon Regional Sports Complex is coming to Douglas County — a state-of-the-art multi-sport facility on 46.5 acres near Sterling Ranch featuring ice hockey, baseball fields, indoor sports venues, and more.
This is a game-changer for Douglas County families. With an expected $1.3 billion economic impact over the next decade, Zebulon isn't just about sports — it's about investing in our kids, raising our quality of life, and giving our community the amenities we deserve.
Tim Dietz supports projects like Zebulon because he believes Douglas County tax dollars should work for Douglas County families.
March 25, 2026 — Wednesday
Speakers came together in Douglas County to discuss one of the most important issues facing our families today: keeping our children safe online. The conversation covered the real dangers kids face on the internet and practical steps parents and communities can take to protect them.
Tim Dietz was there. He didn't just attend — he got engaged in the conversation, asked questions, and voiced his support for protecting Douglas County kids. This is the kind of leader who shows up when it matters.
Child safety isn't a talking point for Tim — it's a priority.
March 25, 2026
Tim Dietz joined community leaders and project partners for the Topping Out ceremony at the new Castle Rock Sports Complex — a milestone marking the placement of the highest structural beam on the building.
Projects like this don't just happen. They take vision, accountability, and leaders who show up. Tim was proud to be there alongside the team that's bringing another first-class family amenity to Douglas County.
March 25, 2026
At the same Castle Rock Sports Complex Topping Out, Tim added his signature to the ceremonial final beam — a long-standing construction tradition where community members and workers leave their mark on a building that will serve families for generations.
Tim believes in putting your name on the work you stand behind. That's true on a steel beam, and it's true in public office.
November 2025
Tim Dietz spent time with a class at Renaissance Middle School, talking with students about Castle Rock — its history, how local government works, and why their community matters.
Engaging the next generation isn't a photo op for Tim. Giving kids a real look at how their town runs — and letting them ask the hard questions — is exactly the kind of civic investment that pays off for decades.
September 2024
Tim Dietz was on the ground for the Crystal Valley Interchange groundbreaking — a long-awaited infrastructure project that will ease congestion, improve safety, and unlock real relief for Castle Rock drivers and families south of town.
Infrastructure wins like this take years of advocacy and follow-through. Tim has been a consistent voice for getting projects like Crystal Valley off the drawing board and into the ground.
December 2023
Tim Dietz helped deliver funding to preserve Lost Canyon as protected open space — a win for Douglas County's wildlife, our trails, and the wide-open views that make this place home.
Once open space is gone, it's gone. Tim has been a steady supporter of preserving the land that defines Douglas County for our kids and grandkids — not paving it over.
